75th Anniversary of the PJI Canopy Club Association
2020 was the year we should have celebrated the 75th Anniversary of our Association. Various events were being planned to mark this auspicious occasion but COVID-19 put paid to them. The delayed celebration finally took place in 2022. Check the Association Facebook page for details.

The Annual Reunion Week-end
Currently, the main activity remains the annual reunion week-end, held each autumn. The format comprises: a golf competition (for the Tatton Trophy), followed by an Assn Dinner (both on the Friday). A tour of ADW and an update on its activities takes place on the Saturday, normally preceded by the AGM, and finishing with a buffet lunch in the ADW Crewroom.

The Annual Service of Thanksgiving
The other major event is the annual Service of Thanksgiving held at St Lawrence Church, Toot Baldon, Oxfordshire, commemorating the lives of the soldiers and airmen who lost their lives in the Hastings aircraft crash at Little Baldon on 6 July 1965. Representatives from ADW, the Parachute Regiment and 36 Sqn RAF attend, and the PTS Canopy Club Standard is paraded and placed in the Church. The Service is normally held on the nearest Sunday in July to the actual date of the aircraft crash and is organised by the Oxfordshire Area Secretary.

Rememberance Sunday - Cenotaph March Past
Since 2017 the PJI & Canopy Club Assn has been allocated places in the Old Comrades March Past at the Cenotaph. Approximately 20 places are available to retired PJI members of the Assn. A calling notice is normally issued in August for volunteers to join the march past. This is a great honour and for those taking part is a very moving occasion.
